More often than not, the first question I’m asked is what is a digital strategist? Well, I spend my time wrangling with data to find creative and innovative ways for brands to enhance customers experience using data, technology and a little bit of magic.
I’ve built a unique set of skills. I’m a better coder than most marketers, I’m a better market than most coders, and I am obsessed with customer behaviour. This provides me with a unique strength to bridge the gap between marketing, technology and people.
With more than a decade of senior management experience, I’ve lead marketing, innovation, transformation and optimisation projects for global corporations including Airbus, BBC, and British Land Company.
Aged 28, I grabbed the opportunity to gain commercial experience through the joint acquisition of a data business in the UK employing more than 100 people. This was followed by founding an award-winning data marketing company with offices in London and Cardiff.
I’ve held multiple non-executive, advisory and chair roles at leading industry associations, including the Direct Marketing Association, Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing and the Institute of Directors. In 2014 I achieved an Honorary Fellowship from the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing.
Recently my work has been featured in Econsultancy, ADMA and Charter Management Institute. Recent speaking engagements includes: ITB Asia, The Remote Work Summit and CRO Talks Sydney.
Based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney (and also Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand), I’m currently the Commercial Director of In Marketing We Trust. As the father of three energetic kids, I spend my spare time hiding out. I use this time to write and speak about marketing, technology and business growth.
